Hello everyone!

My name is Jon and I'm still pretty new here. A bit about me:

I'm 31 and I live in the Monroe Ave area (near Goodman). I received a fancy degree from RIT in '08 and I now currently work as an adjunct instructor there part time during the school year. I teach art appreciation classes for non-art majors (i.e. people who are not interested in art).

I work as an artist on the side and for the past year I've been incorporating small amounts of woodworking into the comic illustration pieces I've been constructing. (I have examples posted here on my website.)

Hoping to meet everyone (who I haven't met already) and get involved!

Hi Jon! Welcome to our community. Your cutouts are awesome. I am very impressed. I too was/am a fine artist but am moving towards more things digital.

We actually live close, I am in the South Wedge off Gregory and South. Please feel free to comment on any of our other discussions, start your own, and also share you point of view on the blog posts. Currently we are looking to get a consensus of what a Maker Space means to everyone. Obviously we as individuals may share some of the same ideas, and differ in others. Feedback and thought-provoking discussions are essential.

We might have to grab a cup of coffee sometime. I'd like to look at those cut-outs up close. Again welcome!
