The Rochester Makerspace has lots of new events coming up this month. Don’t miss out on all the fun!
On Tuesday, November 17th. Model Railroad Meetup will be meeting from 6:30-8:30 PM.
This Meetup is coordinated in conjunction with the Genesee-N-Ontario Model N-Gineers.
The group will be working on N scale trains as they prepare to exhibit at upcoming shows around the area. This event is free and open to the public.
On November, 21 The Second Annual Rochester Mini Maker Faire will be held at the Rochester Riverside Conventon Center from 9 AM – 5 PM. IT is being held in conjunction with the Rochester Makerspace and many other local crafts people and organizations. This event is for anyone, young, old, or somewhere in between who likes to invent, craft, hack, build, play or think! There will be hands-on activities, crafts, exhibits and concessions available. Advance tickets are available for $7.50 at Eventbrite.com. Tickets are$12 at the door. Advance Family Passes (2 adults and up to 3 kids) are $30 online or $45 at the door.
On Saturday November 28th and Saturday December 5th, a very special two-day class on how to knit socks will be held at the Rochester Makerspace from 1 – 2:30 PM . Students will learn to knit a nice pair of warm winter socks using about ease, short rows, shaping, and Kitchener stitch. Students should already be familiar with casting on, binding off, and the basics of knit and purl. Students should bring with them 300 yards of worsted weight yarn and a pair of size 4 double-pointed needles. Patterns will be provided by the instructor. Only the first ten registrants will be accepted, so anyone interested should sign up before space runs out! You can register at Eventbrite.com . The fee is $31.74.
